To the detriment of Kentuckians.

The plan put forth to the USDA by my opponent is detrimental to Kentucky farmers. It continues to hand the Kentucky hemp industry over to foreign agriculture while stepping on the backs of Kentucky farmers. His plan ensures surrounding hemp states, like North Carolina, will continue to out perform Kentucky due to his lack of leadership.

I understand the changes that Kentucky farmers need so they do not have to worry about their crops being burned. I understand the importance of consumers having access to a market full of value-added Kentucky Proud products. As Commissioner of Agriculture, I will bring my years of real agribusiness experience as well as my experience as a leader in the Kentucky hemp industry to put forth a plan that sets the standard that benefits the farmers of today and tomorrow.

$80M worth of pot seized in Grays Harbor County, Chinese nationals suspected

Legislation that focuses on state revenue and limited production opportunities will continue to breed this type of criminal activity. This is extremely counter productive for cultivators, medical patients and law enforcement. This issue exists in other states likes Colorado, California and Texas. When elected Ag Commissioner I will promulgate legislation that protects cultivators, processers and patients but is tough on those that seek to take advantage of the sick.
